About the role

Modern Building Company is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Leading Hand Carpenter or Carpenters to join our team in Hobart, Tasmania. This full-time position is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated professional to contribute to the construction of high-quality residential and commercial projects.

What you'll be doing

  • Looking after some exciting architectural projects
  • Read and interpret architectural plans and technical specifications to guide the building process
  • Be on top of all aspects of carpentry and some knowledge of sub trades also
  • Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition
  • Collaborate with other trades to coordinate the overall construction schedule

What we're looking for

  • Relevant trade qualification in carpentry
  • Experience as a Leading Hand Carpenter or Carpenter, ideally in the residential building industry
  • Excellent at reading and interpreting plans and specifications
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills to overcome complex construction challenges
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality workmanship
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and lead by example
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation
