What You'll Do
As a Senior Human Resources Advisor, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the organisation's workforce by driving effective recruitment strategies, developing robust position descriptions, and ensuring compliance with established methodologies. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve close collaboration with both internal teams and external partners, facilitating smooth recruitment cycles from initial planning through to final appointment. - Engage with key internal stakeholders to develop new position descriptions utilising the JEMS methodology, ensuring each role is well-defined and appropriately classified.
- Update existing position descriptions to maintain clarity of responsibilities and differentiation between classification levels, supporting organisational growth.
- Conduct JEMS assessments throughout the organisation to ensure accurate classification levels now and into the future as workforce needs evolve.
- Work alongside external stakeholders such as CAA to modify JEMS documentation and coordinate seamless recruitment and selection processes.
- Manage and monitor the JEMS register diligently, guaranteeing all position descriptions and related documentation remain current and compliant.
- Partner with internal teams to facilitate recruitment panels, acting as both panel member and scribe to ensure fair and timely selection outcomes.
- Carry out thorough reference checks and pre-employment screening procedures, preparing detailed selection reports to finalise recruitment processes efficiently.
- Support project management initiatives by delivering recruitment activities on time within a fast-paced public sector environment.
- Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels, promoting open communication and co-operation throughout all HR processes.

Your proven experience as a Senior Human Resources Advisor will be instrumental in driving successful outcomes for this organisation. You bring not only technical expertise in JEMS methodology but also an understanding of Queensland Government frameworks for recruitment and selection. Your ability to foster positive stakeholder relationships sets you apart as someone who thrives in communal environments where teamwork is paramount. With your background in project management, you consistently deliver on commitments even when faced with competing priorities or tight deadlines. Your interpersonal skills enable you to communicate effectively across diverse teams while maintaining sensitivity towards individual needs. By combining attention to detail with adaptability, you ensure all documentation remains accurate while supporting inclusive hiring practices that benefit both candidates and colleagues alike.
- JEMS qualification is essential along with extensive experience preparing Queensland Government position descriptions using recognised methodologies.
- Proven track record in managing end-to-end recruitment and selection processes within the Queensland Government sector, demonstrating reliability in delivering results.
- Ability to quickly build rapport with stakeholders at all levels, fostering trust-based relationships that support collaborative HR initiatives.

- Strong written communication abilities for preparing clear selection reports, updating documentation registers, and scribing during panel interviews.
- Attention to detail when monitoring JEMS registers ensures compliance with organisational standards and up-to-date records across all positions.
- Commitment to inclusive practices that promote fairness throughout recruitment activities while supporting under-represented groups within the workforce.
- Experience conducting thorough reference checks and pre-employment screenings as part of rigorous selection protocols.
