**About the role**:
Join QIC's People and Culture team on a 12-month contract as a HR Business Advisor. As a HR Business Advisor you will be well supported by a collaborative and engaged HR function. You will partner with the HR Business Manager and Senior HR Business Advisor to provide advice, value added solutions and problem solving to the leaders across a variety of corporate support teams and investment teams. The role ranges across all areas of Human Resources with a high degree of relationship management, adding value through coaching and supporting strategic people decisions. You will be well versed in the nuances of workforce planning, large scale cyclical activities such as performance review processes and remuneration reviews. The role is well supported in core transactional services, by HR Officers, Talent Acquisition, Learning and Talent Management. This role is based in Brisbane supported by hybrid flexible working - tell us what works for you. To be successful you will:

- Learn the business and understand client groups’ key challenges taking their business forward. Be recognised as “knowing their business”.
- Contribute towards the people elements of major projects and initiatives.
- Maintain accurate data within the HRIS and be able to navigate the system to extract information and reporting.
- Partner with HR Connect on people and position movements, and recruitment and selection activities.
- Maintain up to date knowledge of position appointments and changes including managing budgeted and vacant positions.
- Supporting the HR Business Manager and Senior HR Business Advisor, coordinating the annual people budget process and quarterly forecast process for the business units with the Business Finance Team.
- Supporting the HR Business Manager and Senior HR Business Advisor, coordinating the end of year performance, remuneration and incentive process.
- Assisting the HR Business Manager and Senior HR Business Advisor to provide rapid and quality response to employee issues, grievances, complaints, return to work or industrial relations matters including full compliance with HR policies and applicable legislation (with the support of external advisors where required).
- Educating and coaching leaders and staff in relation to the use of HR Connect, policies and procedures, and providing policy interpretation and advise.
- Work closely with the business, team members and HR connect to facilitate a smooth global mobility experience.
- Work with the HR Business Manager and Senior HR Business Advisor in the coordination of formal Talent Management strategies including talent mapping and succession planning.

**About you**:
You will be collaborative, and service orientated to deliver exceptional results. You will nurture and develop positive working relationships through your ability to see things through to completion, provide leaders with thought provoking suggestions and be able to work in a fast-paced environment. You will also bring;
- Experience in a HR related role, with a comprehensive understanding of HR administrative foundations and be able to articulate the importance of these foundations to leaders.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver a mixture of coaching, courageous conversation, and formal service provision - balancing client demands and priorities.
- Evidence of a partnering approach that is pragmatic, business focused and adaptable.
- Demonstrated knowledge of workforce planning, employee engagement, succession planning, performance management and retention methodologies and approaches.
- Proven experience in collection and use of HR metrics using HRIS.
- Ability to identify, develop and manage talent in conjunction with senior leaders.
- Exceptional problem solving, analytical, evaluation and decision-making skills.
- Prior experience optimising HRIS to inform and manage employee lifecycle events.
- Knowledge of contemporary employment and industrial relations law.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality.
