These hands-on roles are crucial to maintaining the integrity of our hospital infrastructure, supporting clinical operations, and ensuring exceptional patient care through high-performing, safe, and reliable facilities.

Due to the exciting growth taking place at Monash Health, we have several Full Time, Ongoing Positions available for Maintenance Coordinators (both RM & PM) at various sites.

About the Roles

This role involves strategic planning, data analysis, and contractor coordination to minimise downtime and improve performance across essential systems and plant.

Reactive Maintenance Coordinator

This role is responsible for coordinating unplanned and urgent maintenance and repair works. You will lead the response to infrastructure and equipment issues, ensuring quick and effective resolutions. You'll also provide support to the PM Coordinator when required, ensuring seamless service across both maintenance functions.

Key Responsibilities (Both Roles)

  • Inspect, diagnose, and coordinate repair of hospital plant, equipment, and building infrastructure
  • Manage and prioritise work orders using the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
  • Lead and guide internal trade staff and contractors, ensuring safety and quality standards are met
  • Assist with minor works projects and continuous improvement of facilities
  • Maintain accurate asset records and documentation
  • Build strong working relationships across clinical, engineering, and capital works teams
  • Ensure compliance with OHS legislation, building codes, and service level agreements
  • Participate in the after-hours Engineering department on-call roster
  • Champion Monash Health's values and commitment to quality care

About You

You'll bring proven experience in facilities maintenance or building services—ideally within healthcare or similarly complex environments—along with strong coordination and problem-solving skills suited to a fast-paced setting. Your communication strengths and ability to manage stakeholders and contractors will be essential to your success.

You will also have:

  • A technical qualification or trade background in a relevant field (e.g. electrical, mechanical, building services)
  • Hands-on experience using Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)

Mandatory Qualifications
