About the Role

Due to our continued national expansion and a strong pipeline of transport infrastructure projects, particularly in Queensland, we are seeking an experienced Transport Civil Engineer, Civil Designer, and Transport Modeller with a minimum of 5 ' experience. Ideal candidates will have a solid background working with agencies such as TMR (Qld), TfNSW, Main Roads (WA), or Vic Roads, and a passion for delivering high-quality road and highway engineering solutions. With flexible work arrangements available across all our Australian offices or remotely, this is a unique opportunity to contribute to projects ranging from planning and feasibility through to detailed design and construction phase support. In this role, you will apply your technical expertise and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver impactful transport infrastructure outcomes that meet client and regulatory standards.

Projects include activities from Planning through Feasibility, Options Analysis, Business Case, Preliminary and Detailed Design and Construction Phase Support:

  • New or upgraded urban and rural roads and infrastructure
  • Disaster Reconstruction including pavement strengthening
  • Safety projects – road and bridge widening, intersection upgrades
  • Active Transport – on and off road cycleways and shared paths

Key Responsibility

Design & Engineering Solutions

  • Develop and review road and highway designs including geometric design, pavement, drainage, and earthworks using 12D.
  • Ensure designs comply with Main Roads standards (e.g., MRWA, TMR), Austroads and relevant guidelines.

Project Delivery

  • Collaborate with project managers, structural engineers, and other disciplines to deliver integrated transport solutions.
  • Assist in preparing project plans, technical specifications, and tender documentation.

Technical Analysis

  • Perform detailed engineering calculations and feasibility studies for roadworks and intersections.
  • Provide innovative solutions to complex design challenges.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Liaise with transport authorities (e.g., TMR, MRWA), local councils, contractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Quality Assurance & Compliance

  • Review designs and documentation for accuracy and alignment with project objectives.
  • Ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and quality standards.

Sustainability & Innovation

  • Integrate sustainable engineering practices to reduce environmental impact and enhance resource efficiency.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
Required Experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in civil engineering/design, with at least 3 years in transport infrastructure or Main Roads projects.
  • Proficiency in Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and 12D, or Transport Modelling software
  • Strong understanding of transport authority standards (e.g., MRWA, TMR).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative mindset.
