Join our dynamic team as a Senior Planner, where you lead critical passenger transport investment projects that serve the communities across Queensland.
As a Senior Planner, you will work as part of a team leading passenger transport investment projects for the benefit of communities across Queensland. This includes delivering planning projects for passenger transport infrastructure investment under TMR's Transport System Planning Program (TSPP), and contributing to improvements to transport infrastructure, services and customer experiences.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
• Project management, planning: Scoping and project management of a range of multimodal passenger transport infrastructure planning investigations, including options analyses and business cases, to translate early planning into multi-modal, integrated and value for money investment-ready passenger transport improvements.
• Providing specialist advice: Provide specialist advice, information and recommendations relating to passenger transport infrastructure, considering the customer, operational and network contexts. This will include undertaking technical assessments, reviewing concept planning reports / plans, advising on a range of development applications, externally led transport projects and strategic planning reports.
• Engaging with key stakeholders: Build relationships and work successfully with stakeholders, both internal and external to TMR (particularly Queensland Rail and local governments), to ensure projects achieve good outcomes for passenger transport customers and meet investment objectives.
• Supporting program planning and management: Support the Principal Planner and Manager in development and management of the passenger transport investment planning program including project identification, scoping and prioritisation to support downstream delivery projects for passenger transport services and infrastructure.
• Contributing to a positive working environment for a high performing team driven towards improving customer outcomes and delivering high quality outputs to all stakeholders.
Requirements of the role:
• Possess relevant qualifications (bachelors degree is highly desirable), or equivalent experience, in transport or land use planning.
• Experience working in the transport infrastructure planning or engineering fields to deliver projects which appreciate the broader purpose of the transport system.
• Experience managing projects and contributing to planning program development to deliver network and customer benefits.
• Experience applying transport and land use planning knowledge to give expert advice as part of the land use planning process.
• An ability to work collaboratively with key stakeholders to solve complex problems and achieve delivery deadlines, whilst supporting a positive team culture.
