The role

As the Manager, Project Management you will play a dual role—leading a team of Project Managers and directly managing complex, high-priority projects. You'll be responsible for uplifting project delivery capability, embedding best practices, and ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.

The team

The Project Delivery function helps deliver APRA's strategic projects, incorporating program and project management, PMO and change management. Responsible for APRA's project methodology, the standards for project management throughout APRA including creating and maintaining procedures, reporting and application of best practices. Supporting projects by defining and planning, portfolio prioritisation and changes affecting people internally and externally and executing the change plans to ensure business readiness for the changes and to embed sustainable change.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and support a team of Project Managers to deliver successful outcomes.
  • Manage end-to-end delivery of strategic and operational projects.
  • Establish and maintain project governance, reporting, and risk management practices.
  • Drive consistency in project planning, execution, and stakeholder engagement.

  • Collaborate with senior leaders to prioritise initiatives and allocate resources effectively.

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and delivery excellence.

About you

  • Proven experience as a Senior Project Manager or Project Management Lead.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills with a collaborative, outcomes-focused approach.
  • Deep understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., PMBOK, PRINCE2, Agile).
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience managing complex, cross-functional projects in a dynamic environment.
  • Passion for building capability and delivering value.

To work with us, you must be an Australian citizen with eligibility to gain a Baseline Security clearance through the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency.
