LED Commissioning Technician

Digital Signs Australia is a fast-growing LED and digital display company delivering large-format screen solutions across hospitality, retail, corporate, and public spaces. We design, install, and support advanced AV and signage systems across the east coast of Australia. As we grow, we're looking for someone to step into a technical role, taking ownership of onsite commissioning and control system setup.

Supported by the Technical Director, this role is hands-on, autonomous, and ideal for someone who understands both the install and the brains behind a screen.

The Role

You'll work alongside our install teams to bring each project to life, owning the commissioning and system logic that ensures the screen performs flawlessly. Day-to-day, you'll:

Commission and configure LED systems using the Novastar suite (including NovaLCT, Viplex Express, and browser-based applications)

Set up video wall controllers and manage content workflows

Provide post-install support — troubleshooting, client handover, and documentation

Work closely with project managers and directors to ensure smooth delivery

This role has national scope. While Sydney is your base, on occasion you'll travel with our team for projects across the east coast or provide programming remotely.

What You Bring

Essential:

Demonstrated experience commissioning LED displays, with deep familiarity in the Novastar environment

Competence using NovaLCT, H-Series processors, VX-Series processors, Viplex, and Taurus media players

Ability to diagnose and resolve IP, signal, or display issues under pressure

Clear communication skills for both internal and client-facing work

Driver's licence and willingness to travel as needed

Current Construction White Card (mandatory for work on construction sites)

Permanent right to work in Australia (must be able to provide evidence)

Minimum 3 years' experience in LED display commissioning or similar AV technical role

Physical capability to lift up to 20kg and work in various environmental conditions

Bonus if you have:

Experience with digital signage CMS platforms

Familiarity with video processors like Datapath or Lightware

Experience writing basic scripts or macros to control switching and signal flows (AMX, Q-SYS, Extron, or custom scripting experience ideal)

Programming knowledge (Lua, Python, Node-RED or similar)

An eye for detail in cable management and final presentation

AVIXA CTS or manufacturer certifications
