Melbourne, Victoria, Australia ORDE Financial Full time $120,000 - $180,000 per year

Who are we?

ORDE is a rapidly growing non-bank residential and commercial mortgage lending business committed to elevating Australian specialist lending standards. We provide comprehensive product solutions and deliver leading service levels, leveraging digital capabilities and deep industry experience.

We are passionate (and a bit obsessed…) about being disruptive and pushing hard to improve the experience and results for mortgage brokers. Our purpose "Built for Brokers" is clear and simple and defines our entire strategy (delivering better experiences, more value and opportunity, anticipating more needs and communicating more solutions, for brokers and their customers).

What are we looking for?

We're looking for a hands-on AWS Engineer to help uplift and evolve our AWS platform, shape its future direction, and bring modern CI/CD and observability practices to life. This is a 6-month contract role with the potential to become permanent. You'll be the first member of our AWS Platform team, with the opportunity to take ownership and grow into a Platform Lead role as the environment and team expand.

You'll work across a mix of foundational platform improvement, automation, and project delivery work with a strong focus on scalability, security, and automation.

  • Drive Platform Evolution: Uplift our AWS platform and tooling to align with best practices and support our growth.
  • Enhance Security & Access: Design and implement robust AWS IAM roles and permissions, integrating with Microsoft Entra for secure, federated access.
  • Develop & Refactor: Build new services from the ground up, refactor existing ones for better performance, and resolve complex bugs.
  • Manage Workload Lifecycle: Deploy and configure new application workloads in AWS, while ensuring the ongoing health, performance, and maintenance of all existing services.
  • Establish Best Practices: Develop clear coding standards and solution design patterns to ensure consistency and quality across all projects.
  • Automate Workflows: Optimise and expand our CI/CD pipelines in GitHub Actions, embedding automated checks and modern workflows.
  • GenAI-Assisted Engineering: Set up GitHub Copilot across the entire software development lifecycle. You'll establish best practices for leveraging it to accelerate everything from coding and unit testing to documentation and automated pull request analysis.
  • Observability: Define and implement telemetry patterns and templates to ensure application health and performance.
  • Govern Cloud Spend: Proactively identify and implement cost optimisation strategies across the entire AWS environment.

Why would you choose us?

  • We are great place to work and elected in the Linkedin top 20 Australian Startup 2023
  • We are a fast-growing successful company, who is focusing on lifting the lending standards through technology. We use our team strong experience to implement today's redefined digital technology capabilities, unlocking improvements and delivering them where they matter most: our broker and borrower customers.
  • We think it is exciting to be part of our team which is building something which will make a difference.
  • We are focused, disruptive, always thinking outside of the box and will encourage you to try new things.
  • The opportunity to establish a solid foundation for growth in a greenfield environment, in a role that offers diverse experiences and learning opportunities.
  • We really care about our people and want them to have the best experience of their career.
  • We guarantee fun, challenge, learning and growth
  • We are an inclusive and embrace being challenged through diversity of thoughts.
