Our client is seeking a highly skilled
AWS Cloud Engineer
to design, implement, and support scalable cloud solutions. This is an exciting opportunity to work across large, complex programs in financial services, healthcare, and the public sector. The role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys solving infrastructure challenges, and is passionate about cloud-native architecture and automation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and deploy secure, scalable, and resilient cloud infrastructure on AWS
  • Collaborate with architects and developers to translate business requirements into technical solutions
  • Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines and automate deployment processes
  • Monitor and optimise cloud environments for performance, cost, and reliability
  • Ensure compliance with security and governance standards
  • Troubleshoot application-related issues during migration and provide ongoing support, leveraging strong
    Java hands-on experience

Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with core AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch, etc.)
  • Proficiency in IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation)
  • Strong understanding of networking, security, and cloud architecture principles
  • Scripting and automation experience (Python, Bash, etc.)
  • Familiarity with containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes) and DevOps practices
  • Backend development expertise in Java/J2EE (mandatory)
  • Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, AWS CodePipeline)
  • Excellent problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • AWS certifications (Solutions Architect Associate/Professional, DevOps Engineer) highly desirable
