Be the bridge between business and tech on a brand new insurance platform.
Join a growing insurance group in the middle of a multi-year transformation, moving onto a modern underwriting and policy platform. This is a rare chance to start on the project side, then step into long term ownership of the platform configuration, releases and enhancements as it becomes business as usual.
Who you will be working with:
You will join a dedicated transformation stream, working day to day with the Product Manager and a close knit operations and technology team. The program is rolling out a new underwriting platform that connects to modern APIs for rating, policy management, reporting and storage across multiple businesses. Configuration work that was once outsourced is now being brought in house and the team is expected to grow significantly over the next two years. You will be based in Sydney and work closely with underwriters, product, cloud, infrastructure and data teams to make sure the platform genuinely supports the front line.

Duties and responsibilities include:
- Work with underwriting, product and operations teams to understand needs and turn them into clear platform requirements
- Document business processes, system behaviour, configuration rules and data flows for the new underwriting platform
- Help define and refine configuration changes, business logic and rating rules, then coordinate releases in line with sprint cycles
- Collaborate with cloud, infrastructure and data teams to ensure integrations, performance and reliability meet business expectations
- Prepare and maintain release notes, user guides and training material for new features and changes
- Support testing and go live activities for each agency, then transition into BAU ownership of platform configuration and enhancements
We are looking for someone with:
- Experience in a Configuration Specialist/Analyst role, Business Systems Analyst, Technical Business Analyst or similar role in general insurance
- Hands on exposure to policy, claims or underwriting platforms, ideally including configuration of products, workflows or rating engines
- Confidence working with business logic, rules and release schedules in an Agile or sprint based environment
- Strong documentation skills, including requirements, process maps and release documentation
- Excellent stakeholder skills, able to translate between underwriters, operations, vendors and technical teams
- Bonus: familiarity with APIs, data platforms such as Snowflake, or other modern insurance technology stacks
