About us:

Family-owned and operated Helloworld Travel Coolangatta is part of the Pursers Travel Group owned by the Dascombe family. We have operated our successful travel and tour company for over 25 years and consider ourselves a growing family. With a network of thirteen Helloworld stores across Queensland, there is always plenty of support on hand. We are looking for full-time staff member for Coolangatta.

We are dedicated to providing a close-knit community of travel professionals, with regular opportunities to learn, network and have fun with colleagues across our thirteen stores, and with our supplier partners.

Our Coolangatta store is anticipating strong growth in the coming months, so this is an exciting time to get onboard. The store is located in a shopping centre environment, so this is a perfect role for those who love in-person connections and working on a variety of enquiries.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • 2+ years of leisure travel consultant experience, ideally in a retail store environment
  • Amadeus GDS preferred, however not essential
  • Good office skills
  • Customer service skills, ideally in-person and over the phone
  • Excellent tourist destination knowledge
  • Strong airfare knowledge
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail

Responsibilities:

  • Greeting new clients, building rapport and establishing travel needs through in-depth consultations
  • Quoting and booking clients' travel requests.
  • Planning and coordinating daily operational and administrative functions.
  • Going the extra mile to deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Liaising with supplier partners to source the most suitable product for each client.
  • Working closely with colleagues in-store and across the Pursers Travel Group network, teaching, learning, and sharing best practices.
