Overview

We are seeking an experienced a Project Planner / Procurement Officer with experience in government procurement to assist / support the delivery of complex, high-value programs and projects.

About the Role

You will contribute to a centre-led procurement advisory function, ensuring procurement strategies and plans are aligned with government policy, organisational objectives, and project requirements. This position plays a critical role in delivering high-quality procurement outcomes, managing supplier relationships, and supporting the successful delivery of major infrastructure initiatives.

*Essential Skills & Experience Required*

  • Proven procurement experience across the full lifecycle of complex infrastructure projects.
  • Demonstrated NSW Government procurement experience, including familiarity with governance frameworks, schemes, contract forms and probity requirements.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel (e.g., pivot tables), PowerPoint presentations, and preparation of executive-level briefs and procurement documents.
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to work independently, and capability to manage multiple competing priorities.
  • Strategic procurement experience across both public and private sectors (preferred).
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide timely, high-quality procurement and contract management advice, including business needs assessments, supply market analysis, and commercial risk assessments.
  • Lead end-to-end procurement activities including EOI, RFT, evaluations, negotiations, and contract award, ensuring compliance with relevant frameworks, regulations, probity standards, and delegations.
  • Plan and coordinate procurement activities to establish effective supply arrangements and develop robust contract management plans.
  • Manage supplier performance, compliance requirements and maintain strong supplier relationships.
  • Work collaboratively with corporate teams, project teams and stakeholder groups to identify procurement needs and develop effective procurement strategies.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships across government and project partners to deliver consistent, high-quality procurement services.
  • Identify, manage and mitigate procurement risks to support organisational obligations and maximise value for money.
  • Prepare briefs, reports, tender documentation, evaluation reports, negotiation packs, and other procurement materials to meet audit and probity requirements.
  • Maintain accurate and compliant procurement documentation and records.
