We are seeking applications for the position of Assistant Accountant in the Finance Department. The role is a permanent full-time position based in the Toowoomba Office.

The key responsibilities of the role are:

  • Providing financial information to allocated entities of Mort & Co
  • Cash management and vendor payments
  • Invoicing and purchase order activities
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Monthly general ledger reconciliations and journals
  • Assisting with fixed asset management, including insurance, finance and asset registers
  • Assisting with the preparation of BAS, payroll tax returns and income tax returns
  • Assisting with other statutory reporting and auditor enquiries
  • Assisting with enquiries from various departments

ABOUT YOU

To key requirements of the role are:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting / Finance or equivalent experience, together with an understanding of accounting standards and principles
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Intermediate level Excel skills
  • Demonstrated organisation and time management skills
  • Work well autonomously and in a team
  • Collaborative communication skills.
