Situated at Eagle Farm, Queensland, this role invites a professional with expert knowledge to guide cybersecurity initiatives critical to safeguarding next-generation rail systems.

About the Project

Be part of one of Queensland's most significant infrastructure transformations This large-scale rail program is enhancing connectivity across Southeast Queensland — featuring new underground stations, twin tunnels beneath the Brisbane River, and major upgrades to existing assets. The project integrates advanced digital signalling and automation technologies to deliver a safer, more efficient, and future-ready transport network.

The Role

In this role, you will spearhead the design, evaluation, and deployment of robust security measures in alignment with contemporary standards and regulatory requirements. Your leadership will be essential in conducting risk assessments, vulnerability management, and incident response planning.

A Lead Cyber Security Engineer to drive the deployment and optimisation of Nozomi Networks within complex Operational Technology (OT) environments. You'll take full ownership of the solution lifecycle — from design and integration through to validation and tuning — ensuring secure, compliant, and reliable operations across critical systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, implementation, and validation of Nozomi-based vulnerability management solutions.
• Integrate and deploy technologies across OT systems such as signalling, control, and communications platforms.
• Manage interfaces with diverse OT subsystems, ensuring interoperability and secure configurations.
• Optimise and tune threat alerts for effective monitoring and response.
• Ensure compliance with relevant cybersecurity standards and project requirements.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across engineering, IT, and cybersecurity.
• Maintain high-quality technical documentation and support lifecycle management.

Skills & Experience

• Proven experience deploying and managing Nozomi Networks or similar OT cybersecurity platforms.
• Strong understanding of Operational Technology (OT) and industrial control systems.
• Hands-on experience in system integration and threat alert optimisation.
• Familiarity with ETCS or other rail signalling systems (advantageous).
• Sound knowledge of vulnerability management frameworks and best practices.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
