Medical Administration Officer

The Opportunity

As an Administration officer/Medical Secretary on a Permanent Full-time basis, you'll join a truly connected team atIcon Cancer Centre Toowoomba.

Here's what you'll be doing:

Main Reception & Practice / Secretarial:

• Working as part of an administration team to support a large group of doctors daily
• Rotating duties of front reception, rotating early and late shifts.
• Answering telephone calls and responding to enquiries
• Collecting payments from patients at completion of their appointment.
• Preparing doctor clinics, ensuring patient's test results are available on the day.
• Welcoming patients, collecting, and entering personal details, ensuring referrals are up to date.
• Ensuring patients details are checked and updated on a regular basis
• Ensuring that patients arrivals are marked and manage wait room functions.
• Liaise with patient admission teams in regard to change of treatments and eligibility.
• Maintaining and managing patient information
• Supporting Icon's WHS Officers and committees to effectively carry out their responsibilities.
• Modelling and promoting Icon's vision and values.

About You:

• Experience with Medicare, DVA and Private Health Insurance
• Excellent organisational and time management skills
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly in Word and Excel
• Delivery of excellent client service (to internal and/or external clients)
• Possessing basic knowledge of medical terminology

About our Toowoomba Centre Located within St Andrew's Toowoomba Hospital, Icon Toowoomba proudly provides radiation oncology services for residents of the Darling Downs, Western Downs and the greater Southwest Region, complementing the existing radiation oncology service provided within St Andrew's Cancer Care. It is a well-integrated, dynamic service with a strong focus on high quality, patient-centric care.
