Located in the Westfield Chermside, Tapworks bar and grill has a reputation for great beer and good food in a full service environment with popular comfort food choices.

We are looking for a Chef to join our kitchen team and deliver consistently high quality meals in a fast paced environment.

In this position, you will

  • Contribute to menu development by creating recipes that are Australian menu favourites and undertake costing and plate up presentation
  • Source ingredients, place orders, check quality and co-ordinate appropriate storage
  • Control and rotate stock, estimate supplies, undertake timely ordering ensuring within budget
  • Inspect kitchen facilities and equipment to ensure operability, cleanliness and meeting safety standards. Arrange maintenance as required
  • Co-ordinate and supervise mise-en-place prior to service
  • Direct and supervise food preparation, demonstrating techniques as required
  • Cook menu items using a variety of techniques
  • Train and supervise kitchen staff

We are looking for a person with:

  • Trade qualification as Chef
  • Minimum 1 year experience as Chef
  • Experience in training and supervising staff and have team-player skills
  • Have a creative mindset
  • Attention to detail
  • Communication and numeracy skills

The position is a full time role involving scheduled weekend work. We are offering the suitable candidate a base salary of $77,000 + super for a 38-hour week.
