About the role

As an Event Coordinator, you'll play a key role in our Communications team—bringing local knowledge, creativity, and strong organisational skills to every event. You'll help bring our campaigns to life by distributing materials in the community, strengthening relationships with current stakeholders, and expanding our reach to new ones.

This role is perfect for someone who enjoys both the creative and logistical sides of event planning. From coordinating suppliers and venues to managing timelines and evaluating success, you'll take ownership of events from start to finish. You'll thrive in this role if you're passionate about community engagement, social justice, enjoy building strong working relationships, and are ready to make a meaningful impact through well-executed events.

As an Events Coordinator, you will proudly represent QIFVLS and our communications campaign activity, championing our commitment to ending domestic and family violence. You'll engage communities, promote awareness through events and social media, and help build a safer future for Queenslanders.

This role requires some travel to regional and remote locations and offers a great opportunity to make a real impact in communities across Queensland.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with QIFVLS offices to plan and deliver impactful, culturally respectful events across Queensland.
  • Attend and support events in city and regional locations, helping bring our community campaigns to life.

  • Coordinate all event logistics — from bookings and scheduling to contracts and on-the-day management.
  • Oversee event administration including registrations, catering, audio/visual setup, and RSVP tracking.
  • Capture high-quality event photos for use across communications and social media.
  • Assist in creating and posting engaging content on social media platforms
  • Work closely with stakeholders to provide digital and physical campaign materials for community distribution.
  • Support regional visits to distribute campaign materials and build local connections.
  • Manage the QIFVLS webstore and efficiently process orders.
  • Collect and report on event feedback to help us continuously improve.

  • Proven experience planning and coordinating successful events, preferably in a corporate or community setting.
  • Strong organisational skills with a knack for managing multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Creativity and a passion for delivering events that make an impact.
  • Experience working respectfully with First Nations communities is highly valued.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with marketing, design, and communications teams.
  • Confident communicator with excellent negotiation and multitasking skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
  • Skilled in using social media platforms—especially Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram—to promote events and engage audiences.
