Ionic Projects is a boutique builder based in Perth with a sharp focus on delivering high-quality multi-unit residential and commercial developments across the Perth Metropolitan area. Our integrated approach combines design, development, and construction, covering both new builds and refurbishment projects.

With a growing portfolio and a reputation for tailored, efficient project delivery, we are now looking to strengthen our team with the addition of a highly experienced Design Manager.

The Role

As the Design Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and overseeing the design direction of all Ionic Projects developments. This is a senior leadership position suited to an experienced Architect or Design Professional with a background in multi-unit residential and commercial project delivery.

You will be responsible for:

  • Leading and managing the internal design team and external consultants
  • Producing initial concept designs and project briefs
  • Overseeing and coordinating all phases of the design process
  • Ensuring the quality, compliance, and timeliness of design deliverables
  • Managing the design programme, including key deadlines, budgets, and performance
  • Collaborating closely with project management and construction teams to ensure design intent aligns with delivery
  • Driving innovation, sustainability, and efficiency across all projects

You will need to demonstrate:

  • Qualified Architect or equivalent design professional

  • Proven experience managing teams and delivering multi-unit residential and/or commercial projects

  • Strong leadership and organisational skills
  • Excellent knowledge of construction processes, BCA/NCC, and local council planning regulations
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
  • Detail-oriented with a strong eye for quality and efficiency
  • Passionate about design excellence and practical outcomes
