Sedgman is proud to offer the position of Senior Design Manager to join our team in Perth, reporting to the Manager - Engineering. In this role you will manage multi-disciplinary design teams to execute design work on a variety of projects and phases, including front-end engineering, detailed design, and supporting the delivery of projects both in Australia and across the globe.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain relationships with Clients with a focus on client satisfaction.
• Manage the scheduling of work, priorities and resource requirements with a focus on achieving the expected quality and completion dates for projects.
• Manage and monitor engineering workhours budgets during project design stages and provide input to developing workhour budgets during studies and tenders.
• Monitor and evaluate the work of engineers and drafting staff allocated to your projects to ensure that their technical competence and performance meet requirements.
• Work in conjunction with management on resource planning processes to ensure resource requirement for the project's design are met.
• Engage and administer technical briefs for sub-consultant engagement.
• Prepare and control the Project Design Management Plan.
• Coordinate design interfaces with the Client's other designers as required.
• Manage Engineers/ Designers to ensure authorisation and issue of documents and drawings to the project team, vendors, sub-consultants, statutory authorities and other as necessary.
• Understand the application of Sedgman standard specifications, typical/standard drawings, and calculations/simulations.
• Ensure compliance of project design team with the Sedgman's 'Design Management Systems', including lessons learned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Engineering
• Essential skills, knowledge and experience:
• Minimum 10+ years' experience industry experience. · Extensive knowledge on organisation projects and practices.I
• Experience in leading and managing technical/project teams.
• Desired skills, knowledge and experience:
• Minerals Processing industry experience.
• Experience in heavy industry environment.
