We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Chef to join our team at Loving Start Childcare & Education, a brand-new purpose-built early learning centre in Healesville with a capacity of 90 places. This is a wonderful opportunity for someone who loves preparing healthy and delicious meals for children in a nurturing and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook daily morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea for children aged 6 weeks to 6 years, following a rotating seasonal menu
  • Ensure all meals meet nutritional guidelines and dietary requirements, including allergies and cultural preferences
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic kitchen that meets Food Safety Standards and regulations
  • Order food supplies and manage stock levels effectively and within budget
  • Keep detailed records including food temperature logs, cleaning checklists, and allergy records
  • Collaborate with educators to support positive mealtime experiences for children

About You:

  • Experience in a similar role, preferably in a childcare or aged care setting
  • Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
  • Strong understanding of child nutrition and special dietary needs
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • A positive attitude and team spirit
