About the Role

We are currently seeking a Finance Officer to join our Finance team in Macksville. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day accounts payable function, including invoice processing, supplier payments, reconciliations, and assisting with month-end reporting. You'll play a key part in ensuring accurate financial records, maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and supporting compliance with company policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process accounts payable invoices and claims with accuracy and proper supporting documentation.
  • Assist with supplier payment runs, including setting up payments across multiple bank facilities and ensuring compliance with approval processes.
  • Prepare weekly or fortnightly payment run summaries to support cashflow management.
  • Complete weekly bank reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies promptly.
  • Maintain and reconcile petty cash, ensuring correct documentation and month-end reporting.
  • Manage credit card and AMEX reconciliations, ensuring accurate coding, supporting documentation, and compliance with company policy.
  • Assist with UK VAT, NZ GST, and other monthly or quarterly tax compliance reporting requirements.
  • Support preparation of taxation data reconciliations for payroll tax, BAS, and other statutory obligations.
  • Assist in maintaining registers for insurance, IT contracts, motor vehicles, trade shows, utilities, and equipment under finance.
  • Ensure accurate documentation, filing, and record-keeping to support audits and internal reviews.

Experience & Knowledge

  • Certificate IV in Accounting or Bookkeeping (or similar qualification).
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar accounts role.
  • Strong background in accounts payable processing.
  • Working knowledge of accounting software.
  • Experience with Sage Evolution and Netstock is desirable but not essential.

  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Adaptability in a dynamic, evolving environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with Sage Evolution and Netstock is a plus.
