About the role:
The Departmental Liaison Officer helps to manage the interface between the department and the Minister's Office, ensuring effective communication and the successful operation of essential business processes, and awareness of ministerial priorities.
The Departmental Liaison Officer is part of a small team responsible for coordinating the flow of information and advice between the department, the Secretary, and the Minister. The role also provides assistance to people and organisations who contact the Minister's office.

About you:
The successsful candidate will have the following skills and attributes:
- Actively facilitate seamless communication and collaboration across the department to contribute to critical projects, including ministerial priorities, and business improvement initiatives.
- Monitor and ensure quality control for all communications between the Minister's office, the department, and key stakeholders to ensure the highest standards are maintained at all times. This includes reviewing information and providing advice, as necessary, to ensure the required standards are met.
- Seeks all relevant information for problem-solving; liaises with stakeholders; analyses issues from different perspectives and draws sound inferences from information available; identifies and proposes workable solutions to problems; implements solutions, evaluates effectiveness and adjusts actions as required.
- An understanding is required of departmental processes and systems, including briefings and decision-making in the public service.
- Previous experience working in a senior executive office setting will be highly regarded.
