The role requires excellent relationship-building skills and ability to engage with senior executives, strong coordination and administration skills, ability to exercise judgement under pressure, strong communication skills and ability to work in a complex environment.

- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to prepare complex communication material such as letters, emails and reports using clear, concise and grammatically correct language and ensuring that appropriate style and formats are used.
- Proven ability to understand the impact of external events, emerging matters and changing stakeholder needs on the organisation and government whilst leveraging strategic relationships and knowledge to respond accordingly. An understanding of DPC's internal workings and processes along with knowledge of the portfolio will be highly regarded.
- Strong conceptual and analytical skills, with sound judgment and a willingness to identify issues and develop appropriate solutions to solve business problems and improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Demonstrated willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities with the ability to meet deadlines while working in pressured situations.
