About the Division
The Assurance, Knowledge and Executive Services Division (AKESD) provides expert advice and support to the department through a range of portfolio, advisory and assurance services, including:
- internal audit, VAGO audits, School Council Financial Assurance program
- Cabinet and Parliament support, including board appointments
- Freedom of Information
- briefings and correspondence support
- the Departmental Liaison Unit
- privacy advice and support
- records and digital content management, SharePoint and copyright advice and support
- mail services.
The Knowledge Privacy and Records Branch within AKESD is responsible for leading the department's management of corporate knowledge, privacy, intellectual property, and records. This accountability includes leading and supporting departmental compliance with relevant legislation and standards.
About the Role
Team Leader, Mail Services and Records Policy, leads the delivery of mail and courier services for the Department of Education and provides contemporary, authoritative records management policy and compliance advice.
The role is responsible for:
- overseeing mail services operations
- managing procurement activities in accordance with relevant procurement policies
- providing contemporary expert advice on records management policy, practice and compliance, including development of policy and guidance materials
- developing and maintaining productive stakeholder relationships with departmental and sector stakeholders
- supporting the continuous improvement of the Department's records retention, storage and disposal processes
- providing key strategic and operational support to the Manager, Records and Mail Services.
The role requires a comprehensive understanding of, and experience in, applying the Public Records Act 1973 and related Public Record Office Victoria (PROV) Standards in a large and complex organisation.
