About the Role:
This is a full-time position, ideal for someone who thrives in a small team environment, has a sharp eye for detail, and brings solid experience in Xero bookkeeping and administrative support. Reporting directly to the Director, you'll be a key part of the team keeping our construction business running smoothly behind the scenes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Day-to-day administrative duties

    • Management of compliance documentation and insurances within the construction industry

    • Liaising with key stakeholders including clients, staff, and contractors

    • General office administration and document management

    • Ad-hoc office duties

    • Office management

  • Day-to-day bookkeeping using Xero

    • Accounts payable and receivable

    • Bank and credit card reconciliations

    • Payroll processing, Payroll Tax, Child Support, and Superannuation

    • Reporting preparation including IAS, BAS, and TPAR

    • Invoicing, purchase order tracking and job costing

    • Liaising with External Accountant

    • Maintaining accurate records and up-to-date files

Requirements – What We're Looking For:

  • Minimum 2 years' bookkeeping experience (ideally within construction or trades)

  • Minimum 2 years administration experience

  • Proven proficiency with Xero software (non-negotiable)

  • Solid understanding of payroll, GST, BAS, and financial reporting

  • Strong administrative and time management skills

  • High attention to detail and accuracy

  • Excellent written and verbal communication

  • Australian work rights

Desirable Qualities:

  • Prior experience in a construction, trades, or service-based business

  • Knowledge of job costing or project-based accounting

  • Familiarity with construction compliance admin (insurances, contracts, safety documentation)

  • Xero Certified

  • BAS Agent

  • Proficient with cloud-based tools and systems including Microsoft office suite
