We are a well-established childcare centre in Geelong, is seeking an experienced and motivated Second-in-Charge to join our dedicated team.

As the 2IC, you will play a vital leadership role, overseeing day-to-day operations and ensuring our centre continues to provide the highest quality education and care. You will step into the Director's role when needed and work closely with our team to maintain compliance, drive enrolments, and support staff culture.

About Your Role

  • Act as Responsible Person in Charge when the Director is away. Support the team to meet National Quality Standards (NQS) and regulations
  • Prepare and manage staff rosters to meet ratios and budget requirements, including organising relief staff.
  • Greet families, handle centre tours, process enrolment enquiries, maintain waiting lists, and ensure a welcoming front-desk experience.
  • Manage daily office tasks, parent communications, news letters and events
  • Collaborate with the Educational Leader to ensure programming aligns with EYLF and supports each child's learning journey.
  • Contribute to the centre's QIP and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide guidance and feedback to educators, encourage professional development, and help build a positive team culture.
  • Lead the development and delivery of a responsive curriculum that reflects children's voices, identities, and cultures.

About You:

  • ECT or Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care
  • Previous experience in a leadership role is essential, with a minimum of five years' experience in a management position
  • Deep understanding of the NQF, EYLF, and National Regulations
  • Solid communication and relationship-building skills with families, children, and team members
