ABOUT THE ROLE

Located in Hexham/Newcastle NSW, our Business Development Manager works closely with the National Sales Manager, and State General Manager to grow and provide excellence in service to our existing and future client base.

The purpose of this role is to increase revenue by generating and developing new business opportunities and being responsible for the relationship management of some of our most valued customers.

You will also be responsible for consistently achieving monthly revenue targets and margins within designated parameters.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Canvassing prospective vendors, winning new business and increasing the seller base
  • Leading generation and management to set up meeting opportunities
  • Conducting regular visits and calls to an existing client base to nurture relationships
  • Administrative follow up including but not limited to proposals, agency agreements, GID forms, emails, and reporting
  • Negotiating business contracts, completing client proposals and presentations as required
  • Assessment of assets for viability (before accepting a job), completing valuation of assets as required
  • Responding to all referrals of unsold items post-auction
ABOUT YOU
  • At least 4 years' experience in a business development role
  • Current industry knowledge and experience, coupled with working network within trucks, machinery and/or motor vehicles, (earthmoving, mining, marine, and/or aviation is also beneficial); with general awareness of logistics and transport coordination
  • Proven track record in consistently achieving and exceeding sales targets
  • Consistent in providing high level of customer service across multiple levels
  • Strong negotiation skills and a passion for effective problem solving
  • Sales mentality with an ability to cold call multiple opportunities daily
  • Ability to develop positive, constructive and forward-thinking working relationships
  • Strong computer skills - experience with Salesforce desirable but not essential
  • Current Driver's license & willingness to travel for business
  • Successful candidate will be required to complete National police check
