Common Equity Housing Ltd (CEHL) provides long-term secure housing to people with low-income backgrounds who may find full market rent unaffordable. We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Procurement Lead to join our team.

ABOUT THE ROLE

In this role, you will be responsible for managing the procurement process from start to finish, ensuring it delivers value for money and aligns with strategic objectives. The Procurement Lead will work closely with key internal stakeholders to create effective procurement plans and provide specialist, procurement-related advice to the CEHL Board, Managing Director, and Executive Leadership Team. Reporting to the Finance Operations Manager, this role is based in our Carlton office, with the ability to work from home 1-2 days per week.

Common Equity Housing Ltd (CEHL) is Australia's largest cooperative housing provider. We manage a portfolio of more than 2,000 housing properties through Victoria and partner with over 90 housing co-ops to provide safe, secure and affordable housing to 5,000 co-op members, renters and the broader community. CEHL actively promotes the vital role co-operative models can play in changing people's lives and as an ongoing solution to Victoria's current housing affordability crisis.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with the company's goals and objectives
  • Manage the procurement process from start to finish, including sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing goods and services
  • Work closely with various departments to identify their procurement needs and develop strategies to meet those needs
  • Evaluate supplier performance and negotiate contracts to ensure the best possible terms and conditions
  • Monitor inventory levels and ensure that all purchases are made in a timely and cost-effective manner
  • Maintain accurate records of all procurement activities and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements within the procurement function

ABOUT YOU

This role will suit an experienced Procurement specialist with 5+ years with demonstrated experience in contract negotiations and supplier management practices preferably within the housing or construction sector.

You will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field
  • Strong supplier management experience including the negotiation and evaluation of supplier contracts
  • Strong understanding of business and legal terms
  • Experience in the development and implementation of organisation wide policies, programs and initiatives,
  • The skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers
  • Expertise in data entry, management, formulas, pivot tables, data analytics and visualisation
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and procurement software
