About the Role
Babcock is seeking a Procurement Manager to join our Defence High Frequency Communications Program—an Australian sovereign capability delivering secure, long-range tactical and voice communications. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a nationally significant program that supports Defence operations across the country.
Based at our Engineering and Technology hub in Abbotsford, you'll lead strategic procurement activities that shape how we engage with suppliers and manage our supply chain. You'll work closely with internal stakeholders to understand business needs, develop procurement strategies, and drive sourcing events that deliver value and performance. Your role will also involve managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring compliance with best practice and regulatory standards.
This is a high-impact role where your commercial insight, stakeholder engagement skills, and strategic thinking will help strengthen Babcock's capability and support the growth of our Defence portfolio. To be successful, you will bring:
- Australian Citizenship with a Defence security clearance (or the ability to obtain one).
- Degree in a business, procurement, or supply chain related discipline.
- Experience instrategic sourcing, category management and procurement.
- Experience incross functional projects/teams, delivering outcomes in a time sensitive environment.
- Advanced influencing, communication, and negotiation skills.
