About the Role
The
Contracts Administrator
is instrumental in ensuring the commercial success of projects by driving cost efficiencies and maintaining robust contract and cost control systems. Your key responsibilities will include overseeing tendering processes in line with company procedures, ensuring accurate cost reporting, and proactively managing project financials to achieve savings and avoid surprises. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with strong commercial acumen, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Tendering & Procurement
- Prepare and issue trade tender packages, shortlist subcontractors, and lead tender evaluations
- Coordinate and attend all tender meetings, negotiations, and final interviews
- Issue tender recommendations for approval and finalise contract documentation
- Maintain and update the Procurement Tracking Schedule
Subcontract Administration
- Upload budgets and subcontract values into Cheops with clear documentation
- Manage subcontractor security, variations, claims, and approvals in line with SOPA legislation
- Ensure timely execution of contracts and Deeds of Release at project close
Cost Control & Reporting
- Prepare accurate monthly cost reports including forecasts, committed costs, and variance analysis
- Track subcontractor variations, cost to complete, and project savings or losses
- Assist with cash flow forecasting and financial risk tracking
General & Compliance
- Maintain schedules of rates, warranties, and subcontractor/vendor records
- Adhere to Aqualand's Construction Integrated Management System (IMS) and HSEQ policies and procedures, ensuring that all actions align with company standards
About you
- Tertiary qualification in Construction Management or related field
- 5 - 8 years progressive work experience
- Strong leadership and organisational skills able to work independently and in a team environment
- Proven ability to self-manage workflow and demonstrate initiative
- High-level of written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task and use initiative
- Experience in commercial or residential construction and/or development preferred
