Vidico is looking for a talented Design Manager to join us on an initial 3–6 month contract, with the potential to transition into a permanent role.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead our creative design team and oversee the delivery of high-quality, brand-aligned design assets across client projects.

As Design Manager, you'll combine hands-on design expertise with leadership and client-facing coordination to ensure every project reflects our commitment to visual storytelling excellence. You'll work closely with our internal production teams—animation, live action, and post-production—and manage workflow across internal designers and freelancers, shaping both the creative process and the visual identity of our projects.

What will I work on?

Design & Creative Production

  • Create a wide range of design assets, including visual identities, static graphics, UI elements, and video overlays.
  • Conduct creative reviews to ensure all outputs meet Vidico's high visual and storytelling standards.

Team Leadership & Resource Management

  • Allocate design tasks to internal team members and freelance partners based on skill, availability, and project requirements.
  • Plan and forecast project needs to ensure your team has the right capacity and resources.
  • Lead weekly team meetings, 1:1s, and contribute to management strategy sessions.
  • Oversee team performance, feedback, hiring, onboarding, and future growth initiatives.
  • Support freelance onboarding and maintain strong relationships with external designers.

Client Communication & Project Briefing

  • Review incoming briefs and translate client needs into actionable creative tasks.
  • Manage the briefing, scoping, and delivery of creative assets across client plans.
  • Lead end-to-end client communications, including project briefings, feedback sessions, and scope discussions, ensuring clarity, professionalism, and a seamless client experience.

Skills, Education & Experience Requirements

  • 7+ years experience in creative services, project management, or design production within a creative agency, studio, or similar environment.
  • Strong knowledge of visual design principles across digital, motion, and print formats.
  • Proven experience managing creative pipelines, including briefing, QA, and delivery.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; confident working with both internal teams and external clients.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Notion, Figma, Adobe CC looked upon favourably.
  • Experience managing freelancers, vendors, or distributed creative teams is a plus.
