Experienced Bookkeeper

We are currently seeking a highly organized and experienced Accountant or Senior Bookkeeper with a background in public practice to join our expanding team on a full-time basis.

Responsibilities:

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the following:

• Processing transactions using cloud-based software, with a particular focus on clients utilizing Xero with Dext integration.
• Managing debtors and creditors efficiently.
• Handling payroll duties, including STP and Superannuation reporting.
• Preparing BAS returns.
• Maintaining Xero add-ons.
• Engaging in regular client contact and providing support.

Technical Skills:

• A minimum of 3+ years' experience in a similar role.
• Prior experience in Public Practice is essential.
• Sound knowledge of ATO compliance, including GST, STP, payroll, and payroll tax.
• Completion of Cert IV in Bookkeeping or Accounting, or a higher qualification.
• Proficiency in maintaining financial and payroll records using cloud-based software packages.
• A strong understanding of small business taxation requirements, Chart of Accounts, and accounting principles.
• Preparation of reports for BAS lodgment.
• Experience with group company accounting, including the preparation and reconciliation of intercompany loans and transactions.
• Proficiency with MS Office 365 (SharePoint, Outlook, Word, and Excel).

• Be available to start immediately (preferred but not essential).
• Possess a deep affinity for working with Xero and be Xero Certified.
• Demonstrate a proven track record of successfully serving clients across various industries.
