Furniture Fitouts is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to become a key supporting role behind our small Design team. This position opening has occurred due to a long-term employee resigning.

Candidates must have a minimum of 3-5 years of bookkeeping experience.

Our company has grown from its roots into a dynamic Interior Design hub. We proudly uphold our core values of professionalism with a genuine commitment to delivery of service to our client base. We range from working with individual Interior Design clients, Developers and Real Estate Agents extending from the sale of furniture packages to furniture hire for staging homes that are for sale.

· BTW if you want to work Christmas – then this is not the role for you. The rest of us will be away on two weeks holidays.

· This role is 3 days a week. These hours can be worked during the hours of 9am to 5pm Mon-Fri in any preferred nominated arrangement – as long as they remain a regular long-term commitment for our calendar. Please note this is not a remote position. We need you to be in our office during work hours to liaise with our team.

About the Role

As our Bookkeeper, you'll work closely with our Director and Senior Office Manager and Design Team. Your responsibilities will include:

• Accounts Payable: Processing supplier invoices, managing weekly payments, and reconciling statements. Advising client payment updates to our Design Team, processing receipts for emailing to clients and raising credits when needed. This role will also extend to another micro business.

• Payroll: Managing weekly payroll, onboarding new employees, maintaining employee records, and processing quarterly superannuation payments. Payroll duties will include processing allowances/deductions, terminations and workers comp.

• Accounts Receivable: Issuing invoices and statements, and occasional overdue invoice collection

• Reconciliations: Handling bank, credit card and account reconciliations for a few associated accounts.

• On-Time Delivery: Super, BAS/AIS, PAYG, Payroll and Payroll Tax

• Hire Extensions: Creating new invoices for furniture hire extensions and accurately keeping dates of the end of hire periods.

• Create Quotes, Orders and Invoices: Service to our client base is an essential part of our team. As and when required you will create quotes if not already arranged by our Design Team. You will change quotes into orders and then into invoices for our clients as and when required. Accuracy is essential.

• Birthdays: Keep track of everyone's birthdays and help with cake selection

• General bookkeeping and filing duties as required

About You

We're looking for someone who brings:

• Minimum of 3+ years proven experience with MYOB accounting software is required

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (intermediate to advanced)

• Strong understanding and working of accounting knowledge of STP, Awards, BAS/AIS, PAYG/GST, Super and Payroll Tax and the Australian compliance requirements.

• Ability to work independently

• Certificate IV in Bookkeeping/Accounting preferred

• Excel formulas aptitude is essential

• Excellent time management skills

• Can do attitude

• Common sense with a happy nature to work with our team.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

• High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
