The Role

Based at our head office in Brisbane, this hands-on role focuses on developing, implementing, and maintaining HSE systems and practices that keep people safe, ensure compliance, and support our commitment to environmental responsibility.

You'll provide practical, on-the-ground support to our team and clients, ensuring our safety, quality and environmental standards are met across all projects.

The position is part-time (2-3 days per week), with flexibility and some travel to client sites across Australia.

What You'll Do

  • Develop, maintain and improve HSE policies, procedures and systems aligned with legislative, regulatory, and client requirements.
  • Conduct site inspections, audits and risk assessments, ensuring compliance and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Lead incident investigations and coordinate the return-to-work and injury management process.
  • Deliver HSE inductions, toolbox talks, and training sessions to employees and contractors.
  • Monitor environmental performance and assist with site sampling and reporting as required.
  • Provide practical, hands-on support and advice to management, supervisors and field teams.
  • Represent BeneTerra's HSE values when liaising with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
  • Maintain accurate HSE records, incident reports, and documentation to demonstrate compliance and continuous improvement to keep systems running smoothly.

About You

We're looking for someone we can invest in long-term, who cares about the quality of their work and the impact it makes. Key requisites include:

  • Minimum 3 years of proven experience in a similar role.
  • Worked in a similar industry background (Oil and Gas, Construction, Heavy Industries, etc).
  • Strong working knowledge of ISO Safety), ISO Environment) and HSE management systems.
  • Tertiary qualifications in HSE, auditing or similar field (desirable)

You'll succeed in this role if you:

  • Are confident conducting site visits and working closely with field teams.
  • Communicate clearly and build strong relationships with staff, clients, and contractors.
  • Have strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to compliance.
  • Hold a current driver's licence and are comfortable travelling by road and air as needed.
  • Have (or are willing to obtain) First Aid and other safety-related qualifications.
