Freight Coordinator

Primary Objective

Provide operational support and guidance to Management in the development and maintenance of best practice freight and logistics services. This role is responsible for coordinating daily freight processes while continuously seeking opportunities to improve client service, streamline operations, and increase overall profitability.

Knowledge & Experience
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and time management skills
  • Forklift licence and experience not essential but an advantage
  • Previous experience in business systems and digital tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, Databases, S2 or similar) highly regarded
  • Previous experience in warehouse or freight operations highly regarded
Key Responsibilities

Distribution Services & Operations

  • Lead and support the implementation of Chain of Responsibility (COR) requirements
  • Oversee subcontractor drivers, ensuring contract compliance and route availability
  • Manage daily delivery runs, including manifest control and Sign-on-Glass (SOG) processes
  • Communicate proactively with administration when delays may impact client delivery times
  • Maintain and update the Carrier Selection Chart across all AWDS warehouses
  • Ensure customer complaints are documented, resolved promptly, and handled professionally
  • Support warehouse operations to ensure orders are organised, packed, and distributed efficiently in line with WH&S standards
  • Track and record all services for accurate charging and reporting
  • Obtain a minimum of two quotes for new services or non-urgent supplies before approval
Licences Required
  • Current Driver's Licence
  • Forklift Licence (Counterbalance and Reach Truck)
