Supervisor Structural Remediation (Casual)

Role:

JWS are recruiting for a Supervisor to join our SIMS (structural remediation crew). We have a long-term contract for ongoing maintenance and shutdown works in the Southwest region.

Roster:

  • Dayshift: 7 days on – 7 days off roster

  • 12hrs shifts

  • Drive IN - Drive OUT

  • Immediate start required

We are looking for individuals with structural remediation experience who thrive on working in team environments and developing collectively.

The successful applicant will have:

  • Cert III or IV in Engineering – Fabrication, Mechanical, or Construction

  • Valid Driving License

  • WTIA Basic Inspector or CSWIP 3.1 Certification a requirement.

  • S26 Certification

  • Working at Heights (within 2 years)

  • Confined Space (within 2 years)

  • Construction Induction Card (White or Blue card)

  • Rigging and Forklift tickets would be beneficial

  • Ability to pass a pre-employment and site medical testing

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Supervise structural remediation works on steel structures, including repairs, reinforcements, replacements, and corrosion protection

  • Coordinate and lead a team of trades (boilermakers, mechanical fitters, riggers, blaster/painters.)

  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with engineering drawings, scopes of work, andqualitystandards

  • Monitor daily progress, productivity, and resource allocation to meet project deadlines

  • Conduct pre-start meetings, toolbox talks, and safety briefings

  • Liaise with project managers, engineers, and safety personnel to coordinate activities and resolve issues

  • Oversee permit to work systems, JHAs, and SWMS compliance

  • Ensure all remedial work is carried out safely, efficiently, and to specification

  • Perform quality checks and signoffs, including surface prep, welding inspections, coating application, and structural alignment
