Concreter/Formwork Carpenters (Casual)

Role:

JWS are recruiting for a Concreter/Formwork Carpentersto join our SIMS (structural remediation crew). We have a long-term contract for ongoing maintenance and shutdown works in the Southwest region.

Roster:

• Dayshift: 7 days on – 7 days off roster

• 12hrs shifts

• Drive IN - Drive OUT

• Immediate start required

We are looking for individuals with structural remediation experience who thrive on working in team environments and developing collectively.

The successful applicant will have:

• 2+ years in formwork carpentry or concreting (trade or equivalent site experience)

• Valid Driving License

• HRW Licence – EWP, Rigging or Dogging (desirable)

• Working at Heights (within 2 years)

• Confined Space (within 2 years)

• Construction Induction Card (White or Blue card)

• Ability to pass a pre-employment and site medical testing

Key Responsibilities include:

• Build and install formwork for concrete structures (e.g., slabs, footings, walls, columns, pits)

• Use timber, plywood, metal, or modular formwork systems

• Read and interpret construction drawings and formwork plans

• Install bracing, supports, and falsework

• Ensure formwork is level, plumb, and meets specification

• Strip and clean formwork safely after concrete cures

• Prepare and place concrete for slabs, footings, bases, and repair works

• Mix, pour, screed, and finish concrete to required levels and tolerances

• Apply finishing techniques (e.g., trowelling, broom finish, edging)

• Install reinforcement (mesh or rebar) and setting out prior to pour

• Operate concrete vibrators, pumps, and trowel machines

• Perform concrete remediation (e.g., patching, grinding, sealing, chipping out defective concrete)
