About the Role:We are expanding through the introduction of new products and moving to new markets internationally. With growth on the horizon, we're seeking a hands-on and versatile general manager to help drive the business alongside the business owners (a husband and wife team), including managing business operations, sales growth and customer service within Australia.
You will be an extension of the business owners in delivering expert advice and first-class service to consumers and retail partners. Advising prospective customers looking to buy, providing product support to existing customers and managing the associated administration tasks will be your core day to day activities.
You'll additionally lead Optitec's presence at approximately 8-10 caravan shows per year. This will involve face-to-face sales, managing show logistics and travelling to metro and regional destinations around Australia.
Our products are stored and distributed by a third-party logistics firm, so warehouse tasks are minimal. However, you will occasionally break out the elbow grease when assisting customers with product repairs - full training will be provided.
This role has tremendous breadth and will equally provide tremendous flexibility to the right candidate as part of a small and dynamic business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales & Customer Service: Assist customers in-store, over the phone, and online with product selection, inquiries and product support.
- Growth Initiatives: Support the owners with key growth initiatives eg. introduce new products or categories, engage dealerships
- Caravan Shows & Events: Represent the company at caravan and outdoor shows, engaging with customers and showcasing products.
- Customer Demonstrations: Demonstrating the product to customers at the warehouse, caravan shows and sometimes at customer locations.
- Basic Mechanical Repairs: Perform minor repairs on caravan accessories.
- Administration: Process orders and assist with general office duties.

- You are willing and able to travel to caravan shows several times a year, predominantly in late summer and autumn.
- A valid driver's licence is required.
- Experience working with or owning either caravans or boats is a bonus
