SUMMARY

An excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join a leading and established marketing technology group on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract in Sydney. The role involves commercial and technology work, including privacy / data.

THE ROLE

You will provide legal support across commercial and technology matters, focusing on general commercial, privacy and data issues. In a small in‑house team, you will work semi-autonomously while engaging with business stakeholders. The role is Sydney‑based with hybrid working flexibility.

  • Draft, review and negotiate commercial and technology contracts
  • Advise on privacy, data protection and related compliance
  • Assist with commercial disputes
  • Work with internal teams to identify and mitigate legal risks across projects
  • Provide clear, practical advice to senior stakeholders, escalating when necessary

ABOUT YOU

You are a commercial lawyer with experience in general commercial and technology matters, ideally also with privacy and data exposure. You're able to work autonomously in a small in-house team and build rapport quickly with stakeholders.

  • 6+ years' post-qualification experience, ideally with in-house exposure
  • Experience in commercial and technology contracts, with privacy/data expertise
  • Disputes experience also advantageous, but not essential
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills; able to work independently and report to senior legal leaders
  • Self-motivated and able to manage matters from instruction to completion
