Beacon Legal have partnered with a leading global construction contractor in their search for a new Senior Legal Counsel. We are looking for a front-end construction lawyer with 8 or more years experience, gained from a top-tier law firm or similar in-house environment.

The salary on offer for this role is at the top of the market.

We're seeking a proactive and motivated infrastructure and projects lawyer to support a dynamic and expanding legal team. This role offers the opportunity to work across major infrastructure and clean energy projects across the country. The senior legal leadership within this organisation are seasoned professionals and will be excellent to work with and learn from.

About the Role

  • Lead and support the negotiation, structuring, and drafting of complex construction contracts in public infrastructure, renewables and heavy civil projects across Australia and the wider APAC region.
  • Advise senior stakeholders on legal issues arising throughout the project lifecycle, from bid stage through to execution.
  • Work closely with Business Development and Management teams to provide legal and commercial advice on strategic transactions.
  • Ensure compliance with company protocols and internal procedures.
  • Provide guidance on risk allocation and mitigation in project delivery.
  • Manage external counsel where required and support internal legal operations.
  • Engage with cross-functional teams and participate in business development initiatives across the region.

What type of person will be successful?

  • Admitted as a lawyer in Australia.
  • Practising as an infrastructure/projects lawyer for 8+ years, ideally with a top-tier firm and/or an in-house construction environment.
  • Demonstrated experience with complex infrastructure project agreements.
  • Strong negotiation and contract drafting expertise.
  • A collaborative and commercially astute team player.
  • Strategic thinker with high-level communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable managing diverse stakeholders and working autonomously on major matters.
