Assistant Executive Housekeeper

Full-time | 38 hours per week + reasonable overtime

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Executive Housekeeper to join our team at a well-established hotel located in Clayton, Melbourne. This is an exciting opportunity to support the Executive Housekeeper in leading a high-performing housekeeping team and ensuring exceptional guest experiences.

About the Role

As the Assistant Executive Housekeeper, you will play a key leadership role in maintaining service excellence, operational efficiency, and strong client relationships. You will assist in overseeing daily housekeeping operations, staff performance, quality standards, and financial and administrative requirements of the hotel contract.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced hotel environment, enjoys developing teams, and is committed to delivering outstanding service.

What You'll Do

Leadership & Conduct

  • Create a welcoming, professional atmosphere for guests, clients, and staff
  • Communicate effectively and uphold company values including cultural awareness, diversity, and inclusion
  • Attend required training, meetings, and respond promptly to operational needs
  • Ensure punctuality, grooming, and uniform standards are always maintained

Operational Excellence

  • Support daily operational management of the housekeeping department
  • Oversee roster planning and daily allocations in collaboration with the Executive Housekeeper
  • Conduct daily inspections of rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces
  • Maintain housekeeping equipment, stock levels, and ensure all standards are consistently met
  • Train and support staff to achieve GIAN quality expectations

Financial & Compliance

  • Assist in delivering weekly, monthly, and annual budget goals
  • Ensure timesheets, billing, and forecasting are accurate and submitted daily by 5pm
  • Monitor overspend and report corrective actions
  • Follow the Hospitality Industry General Award and all WHS requirements
  • Assist with recruitment processes, performance management, and staff support in partnership with HR
About You
  • 5+ years of previous hotel housekeeping leadership experience essential (supervisor or assistant executive level preferred)
  • Strong attention to detail with high cleaning and presentation standards
  • Confident managing rosters, inspections, stock and operational workflow
  • Excellent communication and team-leadership skills
  • Flexible, reliable, and able to work across weekends as needed
  • Strong understanding of safety, compliance, and hospitality award standards
