About the Role – 6-month Fixed Term

Based in either Melbourne or Perth, with a hybrid working arrangement, this newly created role is a great opportunity for an HR professional to build hands-on experience across all areas of HR. Working in a small team within a technical business, you'll gain exposure to a wide range of HR activities while supporting a workforce of skilled specialists. As the HR Officer/Assistant, you will assist with day-to-day HR operations across the full employee lifecycle, maintain accurate employee records, support recruitment processes, and help deliver a positive employee experience. This role is well suited to someone who is organised, people-focused, and eager to learn in a supportive and dynamic environment.

Main responsibilities:

  • Provide support on general HR enquiries, ensuring timely and professional responses
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding activities
  • Assist with data review, ensuring accuracy and managing associated administrative tasks
  • Coordinate onboarding activities for new hires, ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience
  • Support general administrative tasks including preparing documents, filing, and logistical arrangements for new employees
  • Assist with internal events and staff-gathering activities, contributing to a positive workplace culture

Requirements:

  • Certificate IV or Diploma in HR, Business, or a related field
  • 1–2 years' experience in HR or payroll administration
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proactive, adaptable, and eager to learn
