The Opportunity

Stylus Tapes is seeking a capable and detail-oriented Accountant or Experienced Bookkeeper to join our successful, privately owned business.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working autonomously in a supportive, low-bureaucracy environment, and who wants to contribute meaningfully to a small but dynamic finance function.

Key Responsibilities

·      Assist in preparing management and financial accounts

·      Manage and reconcile accounts payable and receivable

·      Administer a small commercial property portfolio and other investments external to the trading entity

·      Prepare and lodge BAS and related statutory reports

·      Support payroll, FBT, and superannuation processes

·      Manage insurance, banking, and foreign exchange transactions

·      Monitor cash flow and assist with inventory costing and analysis

·      Maintain accurate records in Xero and Sage (Evolution)

·      Support finance-related projects such as system improvements, product costing, and integration of new entities

·      Liaise with external auditors and advisors

Ideal Background

·      CA or CPA in Accounting or Diploma in Bookkeeping

·      2–5 years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting within an SME or privately owned business

·      Capable, efficient, and adaptable, with the ability to work across multiple entities and accounting systems while managing diverse tasks with accuracy and professionalism.

·      Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy

·      Proficient in Xero and Excel; experience with Sage (Evolution) is an advantage

·      Understanding of statutory compliance and reporting obligations

·      Comfortable being hands-on, from reconciliations to assisting in management reporting

·      Exposure to property, legal, or regulatory matters will be advantageous
