Job Title: Bookkeeper

We are looking for highly skilled and motivated bookkeeping staff to support our new Australia-wide turnaround and restructuring business. This is an exciting opportunity to join a new and growing business unit and be part of the foundation for an expanding business.

Job Summary:
We are seeking at least two (FTE) detail-oriented and reliable bookkeepers to manage a large portfolio of client company accounts. Each client has its own bank account and general ledger and you will be responsible for ensuring each of these are accurate and up to date together with lodging prescribed financial reports with ASIC, all under the supervision of our team of professional staff and registered liquidators. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to ensure accurate financial reporting.

Qualifications and Skills:

1. Proven experience as a bookkeeper is essential
2. Experience working in an insolvency firm is advantageous but not necessary as training will be provided
3. Proficiency in the use of popular cloud-based accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, MYOB) will provide a strong basis for quickly learning how to use the specialised insolvency software that will be your primary tool. If you are already familiar with Turnkey’s IPS (Insolvency Practitioner System), that would be advantageous but it is not a requirement
4. Strong knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, and standards
5. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
6. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet critical, regular deadlines
7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
8. General knowledge of GST & PAYG laws and compliance requirements as well as knowledge of and experience with Single Touch Payroll (STP) reporting processes and obligations
9. Certificate IV in Bookkeeping or equivalent qualification is preferred.

Work Environment:

1. Full-time or part-time positions are available for this role, depending upon the successful candidate’s needs
2. Office-based role, but you will have the flexibility to work from home in line with Alvarez & Marsal policy
