Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a part-time Bookkeeper to join our team and be based at our Head Office in Alexandria. Remote work is unfortunately not available for this position. This role could develop into a full-time opportunity for the successful candidate.

What sets you apart?

  • Currently studying Bachelor of Business with an Accounting Major at University or Certificate IV or Diploma in Accounting & Bookkeeping at TAFE.
  • Keen to commence a career in bookkeeping and financial administration, and eager to gain real-world experience.
  • Proficient computer skills across multiple platforms, especially Excel.
  • Detail-oriented with a high-quality work ethic.
  • Demonstrable teamwork and collaboration skills, as well as the ability to work independently.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and meet tight deadlines.
  • Prior experience in bookkeeping or a similar role is preferred but not required, as training and mentoring will be provided.

What is a typical day like in the role?

  • Mentored by the Firm's Directors and senior staff in bookkeeping and financial administration.
  • Conduct period-end and period-end processing, including bank reconciliations.
  • Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
  • General ledger reconciliation on a periodic basis.
  • Maintain the Fixed Asset Register.
  • Perform GST reconciliation and assist colleagues in the preparation of BAS returns.
  • Eventually assist with payroll processing and further technical tasks as required.
  • General administrative duties as needed by the Directors.
