Assistant Branch Manager
About the Role:
At Kent, customer service isn't just something we do - it's the heartbeat of our business. With more people relocating across Australia and around the globe than ever before, our services are in high demand, and our Brisbane branch is thriving.
We're looking for an experienced Manager to partner with our Regional Manager in leading our state-of-the-art Brisbane facility. This is a rare opportunity to step into a well-established branch, make an immediate impact, and help shape the next chapter of our success story which includes development of new sites throughout the Southern Queensland region.
You'll work with high-performing sales and operations teams, driving both strategic direction and day-to-day performance. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll be across every aspect of the business, guiding your people, and leading by example to help the team build on the success of this region.
Some of what you will be doing:
- Contribute to maintaining and growing the profit position of the region through effective management of the sales function and operational expenses
- Promote and advocate the highest level of customer service across all areas of the business
- Support, guide and lead your team focusing on development and collaboration to achieve success
- Ensure Kent's safety standards are met on site and your most important asset, your people, advocate safety as a priority
- Regional travel in Queensland when required
About you:
The success of this team will be determined by the expertise and leadership of an experienced Branch or Operations Manager who has contributed to running a similar operation and has demonstrated success. We don't want to maintain our position, we want someone to come in and be an integral part of a team that is dedicated to growing the region. So, looking outside the box, trying new things, and finding efficiencies are the traits we are looking for.
What else we are looking for:
- Your commercial acumen means you know the ins and outs of how to run a successful business
- Proven operational expertise - balancing labour, inventory, equipment, warehousing, and purchasing with ease
- You know and understand people and you invest in their development and training
- Financial skills to manage budgets and optimise efficiency
- An understanding and passion for sales and what it takes to drive your team to success
You may not fit the requirements 100% but that's ok, we'd love to hear from you. If you are looking for a career and not just a job, you're in the right place
About Us:
Kent is an Australian success story that started over 75 years ago and has grown from a family business to an award-winning organisation. Don't make the mistake of thinking we're just a bunch of trucks, we have over 400 amazing employees and contractors across a network of almost 20 locations. Our specialised business units supporting our operations are high performing but still know how to have fun. Including our tech team who build bespoke systems inhouse, and marketing who enhance our digital transformation. What's little known about us is that Kent is a great place to work because we have great people with great stories. They reflect the rich heritage we have as well as the next generation of new ideas, a winning combo for us to innovate and drive the industry to new heights.
Benefits:
- We offer a competitive salary plus super and additional incentives
