The Team:

The Deloraine District Hospital is a 20 bed Acute care facility that includes Palliative Care and General Medical Care. The Hospital coordinates the delivery of a broad range of community and allied services within the Meander Valley. We strive to deliver personalised care in a calm, welcoming and warm environment while being innovative and having a can-do attitude. Our services work closely together to focus on delivering excellence in healthcare to achieve improved outcomes for our consumers, our workforce and the Meander Valley community.

The Role:

  • Undertake administrative and clerical support to the Director of Nursing (Deloraine), maintaining an efficient flow of information to and from the office. Undertake word processing, spreadsheet, database and e-mail services and maintenance of electronic diary. Provide secretarial support in drafting, editing and preparation of routine correspondence, reports, statistical data and other documents as required.
  • Coordination of equipment, room bookings including video conferencing facilities, consulting rooms and University Department of Rural Health accommodation.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of administrative systems which ensure compliance with departmental policies and procedures and promote a quality improvement approach to the delivery of administrative services.
  • Actively participate in and contribute to the organisation's Quality & Safety and Work Health & Safety processes, including in the development and implementation of safety systems, improvement initiatives, safeguarding practices for vulnerable people, and related training.

You will need:

  • Sound knowledge of office management principles and the capacity to effectively support the management of day-to-day operations of the area.
  • Well-developed computer skills including the ability to efficiently operate word processing, spreadsheet, calendar, mail, and database systems.
  • Well-developed oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to exercise initiative, judgement and discretion when undertaking administrative and reception duties in a senior management and team environment.
  • Capacity to organise and prioritise duties and work relatively unsupervised while maintaining a high level of confidentiality and adherence to timeframes.

Details of appointment:

Permanent part time, day worker position, working 30 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as you can join our team.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $66,049 to $70,993 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022.

You'll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
