Principal - Corporate/Commercial | Freedom & Autonomy

The Opportunity

Walk into a busy corporate/commercial practice and take a leadership role from day 1. You will manage clients and transactions and play a pivotal role in the further growth of the team.

This is the ideal role for the experienced corporate/commercial lawyer who feels stuck at their current firm and wants a quicker track to partnership.

This team advises on the full spectrum of corporate law issues. A flavour of the work will include:

  • private M&A transactions
  • complex joint ventures
  • share-holder and share sale agreements
  • corporate structuring, capital reductions
  • advising on director's duties and compliance with the Corporations Act
  • drafting high value commercial contracts
  • general corporate advisory

About You

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • be an experienced corporate/commercial lawyer at the Senior Lawyer or Special Counsel or even Partner level
  • strong technical skills but as well as commercial nous
  • first class communication skills
  • ability to build strong relationships with clients
  • enjoys mentoring junior lawyers
  • ability to play a pivotal role in the further growth of the corporate/commercial team
  • energy, drive and enthusiasm

Whilst there is no requirement to have a portable client base, some clients and/or strong networks will be highly regarded.
