About the Role

Aptella is looking for a Field Service Technician to join our team in Silverwater. This is a full-time, permanent position reporting to our Field Service Manager. You'll play a key role in delivering high-quality service and support that enhances our customers' experience, working with autonomy and a strong sense of responsibility.

In this role, you'll perform installations and repairs of machine control systems and site solutions—including 2D/3D automation, payload weighing, and safety systems. While most work will be on-site, occasional phone and remote support may be required.

Please note: This position is subject to a pre-employment medical and a police check.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Installing machine control systems and equipment, both onsite and in the workshop
  • Calibrating and commissioning systems and machine attachments
  • Providing technical support, troubleshooting, and problem-solving
  • Conducting equipment servicing and maintenance
  • Delivering training and support to customers
  • Travelling regularly across NSW

Preferred Experience and Skills

  • Qualified Auto Electrician, Heavy Diesel Mechanic, Light Vehicle Mechanic, or similar (highly regarded)
  • Strong communication and organisational abilities
  • Mechanical aptitude and basic fabrication skills
  • Understanding of electrical and hydraulic systems
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive customer relationships
  • High attention to detail and a proactive approach
  • Goal-oriented and driven to achieve outcomes
  • Competence in Microsoft Office and general computer literacy
  • A professional, respectful, and inclusive attitude
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Solid diagnostic and technical problem-solving skills

Required

  • A valid car driver's licence

Desirable (but not essential)

  • Experience with heavy machinery repairs or maintenance (mechanical, auto-electrical, hydraulic)
  • Familiarity with machine control systems
  • Knowledge of surveying techniques and concepts
  • An interest in technology and innovation
